Major: Civil Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
This school sucks. I tried to transfer to the college of Business but did not meet the GPA requirement so im stuck in engineering. They treat you as a number and not a person. The value is terrible for 40+ thousand a year you would expect a decent school, but no, it is not worth the amount of money paid at all. The professors speak terrible english making it impossible to pay attention. Overall i would strongly advise people not to go here.

commentWhy would you stay in a major that you don't want? Why not transfer to a school that will let you into their business program like Bentley or your state university? Stop whining and start taking action.
Just because you do not have the GPA/SAT scores to transfer does not mean the school sucks. Your SATs are unimpressive and i am sure your GPA is much the same. Perhaps you should worry about your own problems before everyone elses.
responseI doubt those SAT'S are out of 2200 if they are how would this person have gotten in to the engineering school to begin with? Maybe they are a smart student who isn't happy with the poor quality of the Northeastern Engineering educational experience and therefore did not try hard and therefore did not have a high gpa?
commentI agree with this student. The school sucks. they make is LOOK impressive and put a bunch of money into the buildings and grounds (except for the Chem dept which is trapped in the 60's and is a piece of cr*p quad) The courses are overpriced and the education is below average. NEU is trying too hard to look like BU and make money. They dont even listen to any students opinions.
DONT GO TO NEU
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY
commentThis kid is an idiot.. WHy would you apply to engineer in the first place? What was it easier for you to get into engineer than the business and then you though,
oh maybe i could transfer to Business and i might have a better chance. Hmmm let me try it!

Word of advice idiot dont go into the department you dont want to stuipd fool
commentOk sometimes people dont know what they want to do and then they find out in college. stop hating and dont call him a whiner. gosh people can be so insensitive. man you got figure this stuff out though. nu is in fact trying to make itself to be in a much higher level of schooling and their tutition is ridiculous. nu is still a good school, but from experience, they definitely treat you more as number than anything else. stop hating on people though, esp. when they're down, show a little sypmathy. and man try to turn things around for yourself.
questionI graduated high school in 1998. It is amazing how much harder Northeastern University has gotten to be accepted into. I checked online, and they have made the top 50 list along with having an average Sat over 1350 and GPA of and 3.7. Back in my time, this school was barely on the Top 100 List, and ranked similar to colleges like University of Hartford or Quinnipiac University. You could get get into Northeastern with under a 3.0 GPA and around a 1050 Sat back when I was in high school. I even knew some people from my high school who were total slackers who went to this college. One of them took 5 years to finish high schoolevel, and barely graduated. Ha Ha. It's amazing how much things have changed. Wonder why Northeastern decided to become more selective?
responseI had a terrible experience with this school. I spent countless effort to make friends and join clubs but around every corner I was bullied and harrassed. The administration turned a blind eye to this and did not help whatsoever. I was an average student but this experience really frustrated me and has carried over after graduation and to this day. The only true lesson I learned from the school was to betray, hurt and neglect others. I spent much time at the Lane Health Center psychoanalyze d to no avail. I make sure that I tell people about my shitty time whenever asked.
