Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
I'm actually a biology/psychology double major. I don't have many qualms with the psych dept; the faculty are friendly and available, and they often try to get to know their students. But if I could go back in time, I definitely would rethink biology. I'm looking into health careers, and plant core requirements are just useless to me. Oh, and on a side note, some of the science departments (biology, chemistry) departments are subpar, with the exception of some amazing professors. Many students travel to Providence campus to avoid some awful professors in Kingston.

I'm an in-state commuter with two jobs, so I don't spend much time on campus unless I'm there for classes. Parking is a major issue for commuters. For some reason, the higher-ups thought it'd be a good idea for the commuter lots to be on the edges of campus, while residential lots (filled with cars that are not used as often) are much closer. Interesting. Also, there's not a lot in the surrounding city, but Rhode Island is a small place. The campus is pretty much a half hour away from Providence and about 15 minutes to the beach. Not a bad deal.

They were making efforts to renovate dorms when I first entered, but all of that has ceased now that they're constructing new buildings. In my opinion, they should focus on renovating buildings to make them more bearable. Why is it that the biology and microbiology (sciences dealing with bacteria and germs) are the most disgusting?

ADVICE: If you've decided on a major, talk to different advisors THOROUGHLY. I'm graduating late because I didn't know of some requirements, because the MANY advisors I've seen basically gave me complicated curriculum papers that I clearly misinterpreted and said,

There you go. Good luck.

All in all, I came into this school unenthusiastically, with only the in-state tuition and my scholarship as pros. But I ended up really liking it, and I've met pretty amazing people there.
