The University of Maryland overall is great school. Being such a large school, the trick is finding all the opportunities it has to offer. When you first walk on campus it is overwhelming in its size, but follow your interests and you are bound to find your place. This university is for independent students who can handle the large numbers and know what they want. The academics vary from department to department, some are better than others. But the overall reputation of the school will only improve.
