Clark University is a wonderful school, in which I spent about two years, then transferred elsewhere (for financial reasons). A few words on the students:
  • The majority of students are highly intelligent.
  • However, I found that for some, their high intelligence and youthful naivety led to arrogance. But, I suspect this is not unusual at similarly-populated schools.
  • When I was there, about 1/10 of the student population was international. This diversity truly enriched my Clark experience.
  • The students are, in general, very liberal. This is great if you're a bit eccentric, anti-authoritarian, GLBT, etc. The drawback is that, once again, the liberals can be arrogant and usually think they know best.
  • On the faculty/administration:

  • For the most, very approachable and helpful.
  • TA's are usually quite good.
  • Administration is very supportive, approachable, and flexible.
  • On Location:

  • Students often complain about Clark's city, Worcester. Clark is located in Main South, one of Worcester's rougher and dirtier neighborhoods. Unfortunately, students don't often get outside of Main South and explore what the city has to offer. And, I can tell you that there's a lot to enjoy. There's a great art museum, a science museum, parks aplenty, ethnic restaurants to die for, and on and on. However, due to urban sprawl and poor public transportation, a car is very helpful when exploring Worcester. Don't buy into the hype. Worcester is great and many Clark grads admit that the city grew on them. They now proudly call themselves Worcester residents.
  • Etcetera:

  • Class sizes are wonderfully small…lots of individual attention and professors will remember your name, more often than not.
  • Lastly, and this is very important, Clark is an AMAZING PLACE. Don't believe the students who complain about it. They are brats suffering from a

disorder. I was one of those brats, and, looking back, realize how WONDERFUL Clark is!
