My
first semester at THE george washington university made me seriously
rethink my trust in the goodness of humanity. SNOBBERY IS NOT DEAD. i grew up in san francisco at a
private school populated by big wineheads and film offspring and
spent years of high school in paris, PARIS! the land
of snobbery yet was unprepared for the new heights and
extravagant leaps that the gwu student body has reached.
people walk around seriously contemplating what they would do if
their parents had not already set them up for life.
would they marry for money? How would they be able
to pay for their botox and future cosmetic surguries?? (legit
eavesdropping conversation i heard near gelman library) people drop
$1000 a night at josephines, a local club populated by
disgusting GW girls in $15,000 heels, for a table.
Girls wail down the hall after realizing they've over-charged daddies
credit card by 3 grand. This is excess at
its prime. these kids have never had to do
anything for themselves in their lives and revel knowing they
never will. I came to GW because i thought
the environment woudl be amazing. the Elliott school is one
of the best regarded international affairs programs in the country
and boasts huge speakers, i saw colin powell, albright, christopher
and kisinger all in the same day this past semester,
but DON'T BE FOOLED! PLEASE be wary. I thought
the stimulating environment of dc would procure a student body
equally as motivated and inspired by the politics, the culture,
the history that we’re living literally 2 blocks from the
white house.but i was so so so wrong. no one
does anything here. there's no creativity, no spark, no interest,
no individuality, no music, no side projects, no hidden talents.
conversations are started by asking where you went last
weekend, what clubs, what bar, who you fucked. classes
are never discussed, no conversation goes deeper than how many
shots you took, how much money you spent, etc etc.
i've never been a straight edge kid or anything.
i smoke a lotta weed, i looove to have a
good time but i measure my happiness by quality not
quantity of wasted opportunities and fake friends.
GWU is
a wanna-be ivy that east coasters can send their wasp/jap
fuck up kiddies who did waaaay too much cocaine in
high school without being embarrassed at their cocktail parties with
their friends, pay off the admin. with the full enrollment
and get our little princess into a respectable institution that
cranks out braindead politicians looking to make the next big
buck off of someone else's ideas.
this school is
ridiculous and if you make the mistake of going, get
out as fast as you can. you'll be on
the fasttrack towards mid-life crisis in nooo time. this isn't
an education, but preparation for a career and a life
that you haven't even had time to think about.
there is no learning that goes on here, only stealthy
cheating..kids paying other kids over $500 to take final exams
is common place and almost encouraged by the lack of
teacher/student relationships and compelte negligence on the teachers part. they
don't give a fuck about you, you're a student, they
work at gwu for the connections, not for the rewarding
wonderful life as a teacher.
no one cares about
you and UPD wants every slutty girl carted off to
the hospital in their EMERGE truck. be careful! don't stumble
into thurston fucked up and stupid in high heels you
WILL be breathalized, lay down on a stretcher and carted
away in a symbolic homage to the poor decision in
coming to this school in the first place.
You can
find your niche, but I like to think of a
niche as a nice way of saying you found the
other kids that can’t. fucking. Stand it.
