Major: Geography and Geosciences (This Major's Salary over time)
I was a transfer student. I had a hard time making friends because most people had already made their groups from their freshman dorm mates and that was that. In fact I have no friends from my 2 1/2 years at Clark. I have 1 friend from my one year at Middlebury Coll and 1 friend from my year at Mitchell Coll. I also had a very bad roommate who would hit me with a broom because I snored and she took asthma meds that made her a light sleeper. I TOLD the housing people that I snored so putting me with a light sleeper was just a set up for disaster. Probably the worst thing was the academics. I had been led to believe that the school had a strong "relationship" with the Worcester art museum. I was an art history major when I transfered. And actually I was an art history major up until my last semester. The professor who supervised my period of art (modern) was on sabbatical the entire time I was at Clark. I had to have an advisor for my senior thesis. I found one in the community but since he didn't have a PhD the department wouldn't approve him. I was given the choice of not majoring in art history or doing my senior thesis in northern renaissance art. Being obstenate, I decided to change my major to geography. Other people have complained about transportation. I didn't have that problem. I would use taxis for grocery shopping and the public bus to get to the greyhound station to go to wherever i wanted to go (usually to UConn to see my boyfriend). One time I did miss the bus to the station and walked the whole way. That was a bit scary and I vowed to NEVER miss the last bus again.I lived on campus all three years. I was in the all female dorm for two of those years in a single which worked out really well for me. It was very close to the library so I felt safe leaving the library late at night and going back to my dorm.
