I spent four years at UMD and had a great time. True, the social scene can seem a little slow if you choose not to be involved, but it is what you make it. If you take the time out to meet people, you'll find that they are friendly and easy to hang out with.I never once had a problem getting ahold of professors. Any time I asked for a meeting or extra help I got it. The school has a lot to offer if you use the resources wisely. Housing and the campus are a mess, but you get what you pay for. I think UMD can be a great place for someone who is willing to make it that way.
