ECU is not a bad school by any means, all of these negative comments are by people who don't appreciate what ECU ahs to offer. There are tons of activities outside of class, one of the nicest gyms I have ever been to, campus is beautiful, there's a big open mall with trees and benches that runs through campus and lots of new construction. ECU has one of the best construction management programs in the country, and the Brody School of Medicine in nationally known for their research. Night life is awesome, it is not full of drunk alcoholics but students who want to have some fun and meet new people, its pretty cheap too, dollar beer night, free beer night, penny liquor ect. Academically it varies with the program you're in, last semester I typed over 90 pages, and read mare than a 1,000 pages for class, the workload can be intense at times mainly because all the professors seem to set the same due dates. ECU football is like no other, we don't have the biggest stadium nor are we on ESPN all the time but the spirit is like no other, the entire city is into the football games we were conference champions and play against teams such as VA Tech, NC State, West VA, and others. School spirit is strong, the fire department and even BB&T as well as several other business around town are all purple and gold.
