My daughter is undecided about URI or RWU…which do you think is better to go to. She is not a geek, she likes to get dressed and go out on weekends..she is social and likes cool people but not idiots…she wants to be a criminal pys. |
My son is undecided about URI and fairfield University. He applied as a out of state student from Florida. He is looking for a college with diversity. Can anyone tell me something about URI? |
Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
I am an out of state student from NJ. There are many out of staters at URI, which helps to add to the diversity. There are many people from different walks of life, which is always a good thing. URI is known as a party school (which is very true), but it also offers many other things besides parties. The education I am receiving is top quality in my opinion. I have learned more about my major then my friends did at other schools who had the same major. URI is located in a beautiful area (Narragansett). Beaches are very close and well kept. The professors seem to care, for the most part (except the chem department). Most biology professors keep lecture interesting and do a good job at preparing students for exams and careers in the future. URI prides itself on research and I can see it every day. Professors speak of research they do and how it relates to our lives. I recommend this school for anyone who is looking for a big school with a small school feel. I feel like I am known to all my professors even though I have lectures of 300+ people. Extra curriculurs at URI are fantastic, except for the sports program which is very bad except for baseball and mens basketball. Intramurals, clubs, and social groups flourish at URI and you can create your own clubs if URI doesnt offer them. URI is the only place I'd ever want to go to college and I am proud to be attending the college.
