I majored in Physics and also completed many courses in Electrical Engineering. The engineering programs at Va Tech are well respected in the industry, and graduates are valued highly, probably more highly than those from schools such as UVA, University of Maryland, etc. Though I graduated with a BS in Physics, it was the coursework in EE that secured a job for me as integrated circuit designer. Both the Physics and EE programs at Va Tech are excellent, with knowledgeable faculty and excellent facilities. The Physics courses tended to be more difficult, but I can recommend either curriculum.
