Ignore all the negative reviews. Especially the ones that mention the violence and how bad the student body is. I've been to other colleges and there are weirdos and sketchy people there as well.

Tech is not a dangerous school, it's quite safe. Just do a little research and you'll find that there are other schools that are far more dangerous than here. I walk around at night and still feel safe.

Tech is considered a better school that William and Mary. That should tell you something.

WRONG; in your own minds, maybe, but the two best schools in va are, and have always been, uva and william and mary. sure, tech is great for engineering, but on the non-engineering side of things you are seriously delusional if you think va tech is better than one of the original 8 PUBLIC IVIES. tech has never in its entire history been considered a public ivy. Also look at the rankings on u.s. news and world report; see if va tech comes anywhere close to w&m.

Nothing wrong with talking up your school a little, just try to be somewhat honest/realistic about it. sounds like you're fine with stroking your own ego at the expense of misleading people.
