I did not attend Full Sail, but I work as an artist in the games industry as well as other areas of the broader entertainment industry from time to time.

If you're talented enough, it doesn't matter what school you attended, as your ability is what you're getting hired for. That said, Full Sail is viewed as somewhat of a joke in the professional world. It's a school for suckers and young, naive, kids.

Why would anyone pay over $80k for a lackluster program offering a degree with ACCSC accreditation? You can not transfer your credits to any other school. If you decided to go for your masters at an actual university or a real art school like RISD or CalArts, you would have to start over as an undergrad, from square one, as your work at Full Sail is meaningless - it has no regional accreditation. To me, this is very concerning stuff and deserves strong consideration before deciding to fork out nearly $100k for a sub-par education. If you're planning on Full Sail and are reading this, please think long and hard about that.

If you screwed up in high school and don't have the grades to get into a good art school or university, there are plenty of community colleges and they're a hell of a lot cheaper than these privately owned vocational art schools. And the best part is, your comm. college credits can transfer to other schools.

For the amount of money you're spending at Full Sail, you'd be much better served taking real college courses at a community college and if you want to get into animation or game art, put that money toward teaching yourself instead of giving it to some con artist school. You're taking loans out anyway, why not get a personal loan and buy yourself a nice computer, build a render farm, purchase the software you need, instructional books, video tutorials, etc. If you want student interaction, there are plenty of online message boards and conventions happening around the country.

Just think about what you're getting yourself into. Also, look at where you want to go, find out who's in those positions and see what their educational background is. Most of all, save yourself some money and a whole lot of stress, find a different school.
