I am a transfer student from a school of similar size in NY, I transferred because i was unhappy with living in the boonies with no access to the Mountains. They screwed me over on transferring because of the CORE, It sucks and needs to be more open. I should be a Junior but they consider me a sophomore, it is irritating. That being said i am so far enjoying the school. My teachers are for the most part really good, we have a lot of good discussions that teaches me how to apply what I have learned so far, from both Champlain and my last school. The nightlife here in Burlington is pretty rad. There seems to always be a few parties going on around Burlington but it can be difficult to find something concrete. Most of the apartments in the area are small and packed full of kids but it can be a great time. There are a lot of people who smoke both cigs and weed but it's in Burlington's blood, there are a lot of head shops here.I can not wait for the winter to hit, everyone on campus is very excited about this coming season. There are shuttles to the surrounding resorts every weekend, I plan to take full advantage of this. I got a full seasons pass to Sugarbush for $100 through the school. Not a typo, $100. go 2 times and it is paid forAs for what the freshman girls are saying, don't believe them. Sure there are some douche bags but they are everywhere. Most people are friendly and intelligent but I do see what she was saying about there being little circles of friends that can be hard to get into. College is what you make of it, get out there and just be yourself. It is beautiful here, Vermont is a awesome state, besides the slow speed limits and poorly maintained roads.
