Hey man, I just wanted to let you know a few things since ur new. I'm a 5th year senior who has lived off campus in North Philly for 4 years. You are suprisingly safe off campus. Ive never had a problem- And I even lived on 23nd and Sasquehanna for a year and had to walk home at all hours of the night! However, if u dont feel safe and u are over 21, it is EXTREMELY easy to get a concealed weapons permit in PA. (I recomned a sub-compact like a Ruger .380 LPC which can be purchased for around $300). However, if u use common sense, there is no need.2nd, yeah, alot of kids at Temple are stupid, but my girlfriend goes to UPenn, and I hang out up there alot, and I gotta say, I actually think the kids at that IVY LEAGUE school (and at Villanova) are more stupid than the kids at TU.Anyway, good luck. Hope U enjoy ur time here. PS dont double major. it will probably end up making u take 5 yrs to graduate like me. lol |

The Bible Guy has been there since 2004 or possibly before then. He's going nowhere…let's face it; even though Temple has been up on Broad St. for decades it is still an outsider and the students unknowingly deepen divisions between the locals and the school. BTW, did those a$ finally burn down 1940 with the popcorn microwave? |
No, 1940 is still un-chardified and the locals are JUST AS RESPONBONSIBLE for the divisions between the locals and the school and the locals are completely ungrateful for all things Temple has directly and undirectly provided them. (though the relations ARENT REALLY THAT BAD.) |
Major: Undecided (This Major's Salary over time)
I live off campus and it is incredibly difficult to meet people here. If you live on campus, it should be easy. The people I have met seem really nice and friendly though. There are also people who are immature and not very smart, but I don't know if these people will end up graduating (let's hope not) so whatever. I feel safe on campus during the day, but not outside the campus. It seems that the police does their job. There was a random homeless lady screaming one time, and the police took her away in a minute. The homeless people wandering on campus are pretty annoying but you don't see them so often. The bible guy needs to get a real job, too. Sometimes the computers in the tech center don't work. It's usually the keyboards on the macs that are messed up. But the computers are fast and they have any program you'll need for school. Most of my teachers are pretty nice and I am learning a lot. You can email them and talk to them after class so they are pretty accessible. But I've only taken a few classes, so maybe I won't think the same as time goes on. Oh yeah, and the best thing about Temple is that it's in Philly.
