This college is a joke! I came here from freaking China so that I could branch out and be challenged. But I was disappointed because this college has no challenges, no social life, no diversity, and nothing special what so ever. I thought that maybe I'd be entitled to some upper level classes because I scored so well on my ACT, but all the classes are the same level; STUPID. I'm majoring in English, and being from another country, you'd think that I'd be a little behind, but I have better English than half the people in this place. All the people at this school care about is their puppies, their farms and graduating to harvest corn. So freaking dumb. Pick any college but this one unless you want to be surrounded by a bunch of boring, slurred, farm-folk with nothing but pulling carrots out of the ground to look forward to.

responseAs a Nebraska-born citizen, I take offence to this blatant show of your lack of knowledge. In Nebraska, we farm. It is our main source of income. However, the fact that a majority of Nebraska lands are utilized for bean and corn fields does not statistically prove that the people who live in this area are "boring, slurred, farm-folk with nothing but pulling carrots out of the ground to look forward to." Have you ever ran a farm? There is quite a bit of mathematical, scientific, and common knowledge required to do so. Not knowing the inner workings of how a farm is ran is a large reason why you have absolutely no right to blindly judge it. Also, considering the student body of UNL consists of more out-of-state students than in-state students, you are casting judgement on a group of people that come from all stretches of the US, not just our little farming state. On a more personal note, I have an IQ of 194, and I am very sure that that, coupled with my ambition, gives me much to look forward to. Finally, I would like to point out that Nebraska's main agricultural productions are corn, dry bean, soy bean, hay, wheat, and sunflowers. Carrots may be a common personal crop, but are not grown commercially enough in Nebraska to provide the abundance of jobs that you so claim all of the UNL students will resort to.
Simplot became one of the richest people on earth through growing potatoes, so go suck it.

responseI agree with you! I am from out-of-state and this is my second year here. If you are not into greek life or football you end up looking like an outcast. There is little to no intelligent conversation and professors don't even teach with seriousness.
