I've been here for two and a half years as a CS student, watching the 'bros and hoes' that make up most of the student body slowly drag those who come here to get an education lower and lower.

If you want to go to a really expensive 4 year party school that caters to the kids who care only about where the best party is at and don't mind being completely surrounded by bros and party whores, then UNH is the place for you.

If you have goals that involve getting a good education and being prepared to contribute to your community once you graduate, take your money elsewhere.

Fortunately, with a student body as large as UNH, you will be able to find people who you'll get along with fine. But be prepared for most of what you see on a daily basis to be bros and hoes whose only interest is getting drunk and whoring out at parties.

At most schools, these kids would struggle to stay academically eligible. At UNH, almost every class is scaled and they dumb down the curriculum so that it's almost impossible to fail.

On the up side, some of the majors at UNH have very good reputations (Environmental Engineering at UNH is held in very high esteem, since the school gets a lot of funding for their research in that area). Some of the other engineering majors have very good programs - and if you apply yourself, you'll get a lot out of it. I am unfamiliar with the majors outside of CEPS.

My biggest frustration is that everywhere you turn you see the same type of person - the bro who only cares about partying. It's gotten worse since I was a freshman - partially due to an increased acceptance rate which I'm sure means the standards for admission have dropped.

UNH has serious financial problems (as many schools do nowadays), and I think their strategy is to make up the fiscal difference by accepting anyone who can pay the bill.

Being at UNH has shown me that some colleges are the new 'high school', where the attitude is that everyone should pass, regardless if they have learned anything or have put any serious thought into their futures.
