I had to respond to some of the extremely negative comments I've seen about this school. I will agree on a couple points: Yes, the grounds are rather poorly maintained in some spots, especially the Cowan building, but I find the old buildings beautiful. And the food choices seem to be limited, and aren't a huge step up from High School food, but I don't think it's "disgusting," and Tate Street is an easy walk away. And I did have a little trouble with Financial Aid Department, but I heard stories of much worse delays from my friends who went to other schools

To respond to some other things that were said: I do not feel sick in the dorms, I've heard stories but I think they've handled it. If you want sparkling clean rooms, move into the Hilton or clean your own damn dorm room. Additionally, I toured half-a-dozen colleges, NONE of them allow you to

control the temperature in your room,
so I find that a very invalid complaint. And while I cannot attest to the Professors in other departments, I find my professors very approachable, knowledgeable in their field, kind, and helpful. I do feel like the education they are giving me gets me my money's worth. I honestly don't give a crap about sports, so I don't know what to say about that. The Theatre program is great, and we do great shows that get good turn-outs from the students and community. Even as a Freshman I'm already getting advice on graduate programs or just going out and working.

Some additional positives, since GC is part of a "consortium," as they call it, with other schools, it is possible to get books from the Libraries at Guilford and UNC-G. This makes the selection huge. You can also take classes that aren't offered at Greensboro, so I'm taking Arabic at UNC-G and it fulfills my General Ed. Foreign Language requirement. However, my class with 32 other students reminded me why I chose GC over UNC-G. There is a LOT to do in Greensboro, people who say the city is boring are honestly full of shit. There's a lot of students around town and plenty of places to party. Also, as another positive for the Theatre program, a lot of the professors work professionally over at Triad Stage, and some of the upperclassmen have a chance to work there too. The Theatre professors are all experienced and professional. Again, some of the other reviews had negative opinions of the faculty, but I don't have any negative opinions about any of them.

If you want to go to a College that has everything, don't go here. But if you want a small, liberal arts school where you can really get involved, do come here. The best impression you can get of a school is to come to a private tour with a few other people, NOT an open house, and maybe get a chance to check out the dorms and see a class. I personally have had a great experience here.
