I just transferred here from a previous institution and I can say that I have never made a better decision. To many of you who are reading this and trying to have an understanding about this school, you must visit and stay with a friend overnight to see if it is the social scene for you. What people fail to remember is that we are located in the most beautiful city, and the beach is just a drive away. Seriously… what can get better then that? Being a transfer student, I feel like I have more of an understanding of what to look for in a school. The students are generally really nice and approachable, you just need to join clubs and make friends that way. Not everyone is going to be nice, but that is just how the world is.

NIGHTLIFE: You can easily find a great pregame and people usually go to the bars afterwards. What was the best thing to me about this school is EVERY PRE GAME IS FREE. I know many people are thinking

isn's that how every college is
, but in fact it is not at all. At the same time, if you are a Freshman you will most likely be going to pregames and then the bars every weekend. However, once you meet your group of friends and have a house your Sophmore year; you will see how many more parties there are if you are not feeling the bar scene.

CAMPUS: What can I not say about Charleston? I live in the North and I attended school there at my previous college. All of my old friends who see my pictures on Facebook are putting in applications to transfer here! It is such a gorgeous city, with so many different things to do each day. Mostly Freshman transfer out of this school, and once they do they 100% regret it. This is because they become used to this gorgeous school and weather; and they start to take it for granted.

SPORTS/CLUBS: At my old school, they had no clubs and sports really. It was a D1 school and they did not have a lot to offer. This school literally has every club you can think of. I am currently in Biology Club ( no interest in science), but we go on hiking trips, and are going on a kayaking trip soon! In addition, they have a water sports club where you can go to the beach and wakeboard/wakerski—or even just lounge on the beach. They also have the typical sports such as basketball, lacrosse etc. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS. Many people don't join clubs and they fail to attain the full college experience, my advice is join as many things as you can! The busier your schedule is the better.

OVERALL: Overall this school is actually perfect for me. I've met many transfer students here who have transferred from ( Penn State, Albany, Fairfield…etc) and they absolutely love this school. It is February and I've already been to the beach a few times! Especially from coming from the north, you realize how amazing this is. Especially when the warm weather is around, you can easily find kegs & eggs parties and keg parties. But don't loose sight in what is really important: your education. I had a 3.9 at my old school, and coming here was a huge adjustment. You feel like you are on vacation because it is so beautiful and there is so much to do. As long as you have your priorities straight, and stick to a schedule—you will get a lot out of this school academically.
