This University is a disgrace. This school used to be a beacon for what is good and right in the world. Now it is a beacon of the moral deterioration in our society, not only from the disgusting faculty at the school, but the close minded and ignorant student body. They still, even after months, are supporting Paterno who actively helped cover up the actions of a child rapist to protect his reputation. What a disgrace, I am ashamed to be apart of this asinine student body. If you are thinking about going to Penn State, look to its nearby rival, Rutgers. Rutgers much more class and quality than this overblown school has.

I'm starting my freshman year at Rutgers this September. Thanks for recommending Rutgers for other prospective students and hopefully some New Jersey students who haven't thought much of RU before would take your review into consideration.

I find it disgusting how there are still people trying to defend Joe Paterno even after the whole Freeh report came out and sometimes I really don't know what to think of the whole situation. Hopefully you were able to get a lot out of the education at Penn State, since this whole controversy had nothing to do with the academics there.

Actually lock haven is its neighbor, not rutgers.

Rutgers and Penn State are commonly compared to one another given the similarities of the two schools. I've been to both schools and honestly, academically they are very strong. However, given the recent events at Penn State, I probably wouldn't want to be associated with the University. I feel sorry for this senior just coming out of Penn State - he'll probably have even more trouble finding a job.

Actually, come to think of it, the student body at Rutgers tends to be a bit more diverse than Penn State and there is much less of a college football fanaticism. Go with RU.

I wouldn't really worry that much about the scandal affecting your employment opportunities. This article seems to say otherwise.
