Go to FAU if you like self torture. Seriously, this college sucks. People say

oh well its cheap and its easy to get a degree from and its what you make of it

that alone speaks for the attitudes of this school. You will find two types of people here. Stress freaks who dont know how to enjoy life and people who enjoy life too much and get absolutely nothing done. Theres no balance at all of the student body, which is why the school is going absolutely nowhere in terms of progression.

Academics sucks. Seriously you wont learn much here. Prepare to kiss *** to get good grades. Most people say

i get good grades by talking to my prof during office hours

what a joke. That just proves you learn nothing. Most test your just cramming a bunch of useless info that you wont ever need again. Plus the major pool is very generic, not a lot of specialty degrees or internships offered by the university. Its all self learning here, your profs are mostly useless and there to enable you to get a piece of paper known as a degree.

Student life is a joke too. The dorms are overpriced and the RAs are a bunch of rule nazis. All the student orgs on campus are a bunch of lame clubs. Even greek life sucks here, its just a bunch of arrogant elitist who throw lame pool parties and are clueless on how to do anything cool or fun. Nobody seems to really try, everyone just wants to judge each other and hate on any attempt of creativity or intellect.

The biggest problem with FAU is that the university isnt really united. Athletics dont boost morale, all the events they have are super lame. Football team is pretty bad, all other sports arent going anywhere, new stadium was a joke, no big events on campus in general (foam party is our biggest thing LOL), I could go on that its almost borderline a fake college with a fake atmosphere and a fake experience all in one package.

If you go to FAU just be prepared for a grind fest to make it to the end. Most people who go here hate going there and the others transfer or dream about transferring during their entire stay. Maybe I expect more out of college but in today's world, its not cheap (even with FAU's prices) and if you decide to go, it better be worth it since if not your 4-6 years was wasted time and money and you just end up with regret.

My biggest problem with this school is that its flat out not inspiring and nothing here will empower you. Its not like FSU or UCF or UF or any decent school in the state to where your not just getting a piece of paper but your getting an experience, your getting an education and your trying to pursuit more than a 9-5 job. FAU doesnt offer much in terms of opportunity unless you enjoy kissing *** and not being able to just be yourself and use your own talents to get far.

Overall, stay away unless you dont want to be happy for the next 4 years. Yeah South Florida is nice but its not what the entire world has to offer. South Florida is very expensive and as an undergrad you cant afford what half the area has to offer anyway. Trust me its not worth it unless your that desperate for that piece of paper. You have your whole life to make money and figure out what you want to do, dont go here and feel pressured to get everything done super quickly and stress yourself out the rest of your life.
