Ohio State is really good at two things: promoting jock culture and spending your money on ridiculous buildings and things that none of us need.

The undergrads at this university have to be the least inspired and least intelligent people I've ever met. OSU is supposedly a selective school with an average ACT of 29 or something—yeah, that's a joke. What they don't tell you is that the majority of people who go here are transfer students who didn't have to report test scores, and they are borderline illiterate. You will sit in class all day with people who have a vocabulary of 35 words. Worse, the students are close-minded and country. They're all from small towns and farms and haven't experienced any diversity in their lives. I'm not even a minority, and I see so much casual racism on a day-to-day basis that it's frightening. And don't even try to read people's twitter accounts. It's disgusting.

When you see people on here or Rate My Professor talking about how much there is to do at OSU and how much diversity there is, it's because they're from a town where the main attraction is a Walmart. These students typically have big dreams—they want to work at an insurance company and marry someone they met at a frat party. At best, people here are boring; at worst, they are knuckle-dragging future tea party voters.

The school revolves around football and the culture that it brings in. That means more anti-intellectualism, yawn yawn yawn. The team's doing great this year! But it does great every year because it's the best team money can buy. If the school invested a tenth of its football revenue into academics, it could give some serious full scholarships. Or at least hire more professors so I'm not sitting in a lecture with hundreds of people, one professor and two TAs.
