I can simply say, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for your education. I am very disappointed in my experience attending school here. While the faculty try to make the educational environment challenging and inviting (the faculty are regularly available to meet with you), I honestly feel my high school faculty and curriculum were better prepared, more organized, and more efficient in giving me a challenging education. Speaking with my friends that are attending other universities, I am surprised how much more involved their programs are in helping prepare them for their careers. I feel like I am being left behind when I hear about the extent of the programs and assistance available for students at other schools. Just about every experience here, other than the actual campus, is sub-par to my high school experience. The sports programs are poorly supported, not just by the school, but by the students. The drug use here is much higher than any faculty or administration realize. It seems drug use is almost common place among many of the students. I realize that alcohol use is considered a part of your college experience, but it is out of control. Most of the social activities revolve around drinking. It gets really old really fast. Try leaving the campus to find any normal activities. There aren?t any. If you ever don?t feel like drinking or being around drunken people, you are going to have a bad time.I had a chance to visit a friend at a state university. I already had the above misgivings about my school decision, but in three days I knew what a mistake I had made. I previously thought that a private school would provide me the best university experience, surely that is what the extra expense is for, but the difference was night and day. I?m now exploring my options to go elsewhere.
