Major: Education (This Major's Salary over time)
I am not a traditional student, just entering in, unsure of what to expect. I have three degrees, and decided to get an M.ed for professional development reasons. I am a working professional already. Out of the three schools I attended, this was the very worst. I enjoy school. I love to study. I don't love busywork at a graduate level! I don't love mindless fill in the blank questions. I don't love that I only ever received a handful of short sentences in response to anything I submitted. I had basically the same level of communication with professors as I do with strangers on linkedin. Less, in fact! And, most responses were something like, Well, thanks for that. I only have an MA in writing and a year of experience as a college English professor. But, yeah. That was definitely worth the money. How much did I spend on three classes? More than my entire MA? Great. Just great. Also, my adviser vanished, never to return. So, I met with lots and lots of people about leaving the worthless program. I also had been in a car accident, and needed to deal with medical issues instead of this nonsense. I was assured all had been paid for, even if one class would take a W grade. This was fine. I paid a lot for that W, but that's fine. Then, I was charged an extra fee, no explanation. I have never received a bill of any kind. I received a letter asking for (sic) "the monies". They had already charged late fees before alerting me of this charge. They charged late fees one business day after I received the letter. They are refusing to send a bill. I know the breakdown doesn't make sense, and I need the bill for my records, at any rate. But, someone who sounds about 12 said that's just impossible. Apparently, this school keeps no records and has no bills on file, and no one knows anything. But, honestly, the loss of money is practically worth it to just be out of that horrible school. One would have to be very stupid to find any of those classes academically challenging or interesting.
