Davidson College is one of the most underrated schools in the nation. The level of education is second to none. However it is also one of the hardest schools in the nation once you are in. This is great for the student who really wants to learn but not so great for a good student who wants a school with a name recognition greater than the school its self. Davidson was recently rated the hardest working school in the nation, I believe this. You can easily work 6 hours a night and have a GPA around a 3.2 (if you are pretty bright). Davidson has not fallen pray to the popular trend of grade inflation, if you have never failed a test or paper you will here, if you have never gotten a C in a class you probably will here. Some students do escape with rediculously high GPA's but for the most part they spend 4 years locked in their rooms and have no life to speak of. Davidson is no walk in the park I don't know of a more difficult school (and yes I have friends at Harvard and MIT and they have it easier) but the level of education in the absolute best if you are willing to do the work, which is plentiful. All and all Davidson breeds success graduates from here go on to do just about anything they want whether it be in the work force or grad school.
