I think that the most accurate school motto is “work hard, play hard.” At first it may seem that no one does work and everyone goes out every night, but when it comes down to test times, everyone studies their a*ses off.  Parking is horrible here if you plan to bring a car sophmore year.  It also seems that the school spends money on things that aren't entirely necessary (i.e.  the most expensive computers on the market for the library rather than sufficient lower-costing ones).  The school also sucks money out of you (or your parents) like there's no tomorrow.  The population is extremely non-diverse, with most kids coming from New Jersey or Long Island driving their BMWs around campus.  But these are pretty much my only complaints about the school.  Academically, it's amazing and the majority of the professors are brilliant and helpful (with the exception of too many non-English speaking TA's).  If you are looking for a school with a huge sense of community then this is the one.  Since the surrounding city sucks, everyone sticks together so you feel like you're living in your own little city on campus.  I would really only recommend this school to someone who has no problem with the fact that there is very little diversity on campus, because it seems to bother many.  However, I'm glad I chose Lehigh and wouldn't change my decision if given the chance.
