The College of Charleston

CofC was a decent experience for me. I am here to party and get an education at the same time. The academics are good, but the night life is lame. Even though its a fairly big school, every time you go out you see the same old people. Its fun for a few months but then it can get pretty boring. You're really just doing the same old thing every weekend. Bars here are eh and parties are LOADED with girls. If a dude is throwing it they wont let any guys in sometimes. Too much estrogen and fake tans in one room for me. There's a ton of drugs which can be fun, but it is so easy to find and a lot of people just get too carried away. It is absurd the amount of people I know who either failed out or had to leave for health issues. Also, Charleston police are cracking down on bars and house parties so even if you do enjoy the lack of variety in the nightlife its getting busted pretty frequently and early on in the night.

I find most people(not all just MOST) here are just book smart but are incapable of having a normal conversation. All there is to talk about is tanning, shopping and why the guy they've been hooking up with wont talk to them anymore. Most of the people here are not really intellectual. They brag about how many shots they took last night or how many lines of coke they did. Its pathetic, you hear the same freaking story over and over. We get it, you like to party and this is coming from someone who likes to party. If you are a guy you'll probably love it, but the quality of most of the girls who do go out is low and most of them are just good for a one night stand. Not all of them, just the majority. Most of the guys at this school are pretty cool, but a lot of them are either arrogant or way artsy fartsy.

This is the only school I wanted to go to and whenever I visited it seemed great, if you stick around awhile you will see what it's really like and will probably get bored very soon.

It has its redeeming qualities like the beach, how beautiful the city is and the variety of deals the bars have on various days of the week, but to stay there for an extended period of time would be pretty underwhelming. I am here for one more semester and then getting out of here, hallelujah.
