UMass Amherst in the ultimate shithole of Mass. This institution has an acceptance rate of 70% for Undergraduate. This is a large school, and don't expect to have you face remembered my faculties in lectures. Here are some major details of this school.

Faculties: Believe it or not, there are some super bright faculties, especially in the applied science department. Forget the rest. If you get to do research and build connection with one of those figures, it might not be a terrible idea coming here. But again, this is just a tip of the iceberg. Most of TA's here should be fired. They give you easy workload you bomb the test. Sometimes they're willing to curve the grades, most of the times, they don't give a shit.

Students Body: At Umass Amherst, you will get to meet lots of arrogant people. They're arrogant about nothing really. At this place, they constantly present themselves in ostentatious manner hoping to get recognized. Weekends are hellish. If you're studious, that's fine. But you won't find the right ambiance to focus here. The library doesn't even open till 11 in weekends. They close at 9 AM on Fridays. You can't sleep at night because drunkies are smoking crack outside and being vociferous till 3 AM. Most places are very very chaotic. There's only 13-5% of the student body who really care for their future.

Advisors: common wealth college advisers are much more supportive, but School Of Management advisers are completely useless. Undeclared Department advisers hires random, uneducated good hearted person to advise students. He is a nice guy, but absolutely obsolete. I once sought an adviser at School of Management to fix my resume. I have never felt so unwelcomed in my entire life. She didn't even respond to my email on time as promised, and I had to attend to the career fair feeling insecure. Hey, it's cheaper here. You get what you paid for.

If you're so obtuse and you insist coming here, I have couple of suggestions for you; work hard, get good grades, and transfer to Amherst College.

Isenberg School of Management:

They say Isenberg is ranked somewhere within top 50 in national ranking. This is total bullshit. Students brainwash themselves with this fabrications and fill themselves with pride. Of course the advisors here want to promote their school. If you ask UMass students if they know where their school stand in terms of ranking, they'll say,

yeah, we're right after Wharton

Safety: just watch the news. You will be able to predict when the next riot will be. Students get email of admonition all the time. Basically Chancellors warning students that police won't hesitate a single second to jail you if you screw around outside creating riot. Trust me, it happens quite frequently.

Unless your alternative is Boston University, don't waste your time coming here. Please…

You'll regret it.

responseTo the user above: get your head out of your ass.
Boston University makes UMass look like a joke? They're the same!! BU students are as ignorant as UMass students. They only difference between the two is that BU students can afford 45-50K/ year. If you're a BU student, you should transfer to UMass because it will save you money significantly for the same quality of education. Actually, I would argue that UMass quality is better, if not the same. Good luck with your study, mate.
responseNo wonder tuition is jackin up, look at all the troll UMass hire to plague this board…
