I hate this hellhole, so glad to be graduating this week. I was actually apart of the media studies department (not communications but that was not an option here). For the media studies department to be so a small, the staff could careless about you which is sad, the senior professor complain about them hiring new teacher it is because student's can feel you don't care and in turn give you bad or average reviews. I transferred from another school, so I know how the college experience should be (I moved and picked this school because of cost) and this is not it. I think I had more issues being a black female in this program if I were honest, I had a hard time fitting in. If you are thinking about coming here talk to a student within your actual department it will make a world of difference. On a side note, I loved the african american studies department and the drama department (I learned a lot in those classes and even had good experiences from professors that had not even taught me). The sociology department is okay, I personal had an issue with Rachael Patterson, I originally was going to make sociology my second major or my minor but each time they gave me Ms. Patterson as my advisor and we did not get along. I had her as my professor, she was not a bad teacher. But I just don't think we did not meshed well giving her personality.
