They have some good teachers, and the filmOther
They have some good teachers, and the film school has produced some really great people like Speilberg. I was an International Relations major and that school also had some very good people. But there were also some really terrible teachers--too many; people who weren't much older than myself at the time and who had no teaching experience. Overall I felt very cheated. The school was and still is expensive but only provides marginal resources/instruction.

USC has historically been the place where all the rich white kids go in So Cal. My grades were average but I got in because my family had money. Having said that, the percentage of white folks at the school has never been more than 60%. That fact combined with the school's odd location in the middle of South Central L.A. which is all black, Korean, and Spanish makes the all-white fraternity row the ultimate island and creates an us against them mentality that reinforces racism in ways you could never imagine.

Recently the school began dictating racial quotas for some of the frats. So much for freedom of association. And the asians they force the frats to take never fit in and drop out. The heavy handed social engineering creates a suffocating atmosphere where nobody feels free to express their thoughts or ideas. It's political correctness as its worst. No surprise as the years go by the small white tribe is shrinking.

The university is ringed by fast food joints, and each one carries it's own brand of salmonella and ecoli. No surprise most of the Burger Kings and McDonald's around the school are empty, void of students. Because of the school's location in the ghetto there are NO nice restaurants close by, and you will always be driving a half hour each way to do anything interesting.

In summary:
FOOD: BAD
STUDENTS: FEW AMERICANS
LOCATION: DANGEROUS L.A. GHETTO
CRIME: MURDERS RIGHT OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR
ENVIRONMENT: HIGH LEVELS OF POLLUTION AND HOT
ACADEMICS: FEAST OR FAMINE
ADMINISTRATION: ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE
TUITION: MUCH TOO HIGH FOR WHAT YOU GET
DORMS/APARTMENTS: FILTHY!
AVOID THIS SCHOOL AT ALL COSTS

How much you likeQuite BrightOther
How much you like USC is completely dependant upon how much you like the Greek scene. If you do, this is one of the best places to be. If you don't, transfer.
