I have a 3.6 and work hard to maintain that but this department is terrible. Department staff is rude and condescending and it is difficult to get help, instead you are forced to do projects over and over again instead of getting some guidance in the middle. I have attended several universities ( moved a lot due to military ) and this is the worst. I wonder if this department will hang around...

Graduate program. The campus was not maintained very well, I hate to pick on all staff because the computer technical support people with their student workers were soooo nice and helpful. The admission department was not. Lots of passing me around on the phone to get straight answers, which took many calls!! made me really question the quality here. No one seemed to know anything. They really didnt care if you came here or not. I was registered last minute because of the lack of help. Then was sent a late fee even though I made it- completed registration on the last day allowed before "late". It was like the last straw for me. The lack of help and care on top of a late fee for something that wasn't late was the last convincing piece that this school was going to be a chaotic mess to deal with for the next few years. I am a great student with excellent GPA, I'll go elsewhere.

For people who've never been to another school besides USF, there appear to be little problems. But I attended a nationally ranked school for my undergraduate degree, and upon entering USF, quickly realized the University of South Florida was an unranked school for a reason. The way things are handled at this school will unfortunately keep this school unranked. If you are looking for a school that takes care in treating their students and the quality of education, find a different school. Even bigger schools where you are just a number will treat you better than the University of South Florida. Trying to get any helpful information concerning financial aid, academics, or any questions in general is an absolute task to talk to a person of knowledge, and by the time you actually get in contact with anyone they tell you to look it up on their website which is imposible to navigate through. Look for a different school.

The actual school is beautiful. The professors are great, and online access to grades &tc is great. However, the Magnolia Apartment style dorms are unacceptable and outrageously priced. Trying to communicate with different departments is very hard, and my overall experience was bad. I do not recommend this school, unless you know very much about universities and plan to live off campus.
