Positive Negative Neutral Advice
There are several positives and negatives about UBrightOther
There are several positives and negatives about U of I. It is definatley a good school, with a decent reputation in many fields. That being said, some students and faculty have an annoying "ivy leage mentality" and consider themselves better than those from other midwest schools.

The school itself is very large, and has a diverse student body but a majority of students are from Chicago and the suburbs. Not necessarily a bad thing, just a fact.

You might not expect it but UIUC is a pretty big party school and the bar scene is huge. Friday and Saturday nights can get a bit rowdy sometimes, but with so many students there's almost certainly something else going on if drinking isn't your thing. You will need good time management skills as those who party every night without ever studying will be weeded out. It happened to two friends of mine freshman year.

The surrounding town leaves alot to be desired...its a somewhat depressed area, in stark contrast to the booming university district. Nevertheless there is a decent mall and the standard choice of chain restaurants.Overall U of I is a good school, especially for the money if you live in state, but be sure to visit the campus a few times and get a feel for it.

Question
I think the University of Illinois at Urbana-ChampaignQuite BrightPolitical Science
I think the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is a wonderful place to learn and grow. It is a very large campus, so there is something for everyone. One can be in almost any kind of organization, group, or class. However, like any university, you get what you put in. It is large, so it is possible to fall through the cracks even though I have not met any of them. I am a much better person since coming to the U of I. The pride that I have in this university is astonding. I would not trade my education here for anything. I could have gone to "better" schools in the Ivy League and so forth, but I decided to take the cheaper route. I have not regretted that decision since I made it.

Question
My experience here at U of I hasBrightBusiness - Management and Administration
My experience here at U of I has been great. If I had a chance to do it all over again, I wouldn't change anything. I've met a lot of people here that I know I'll be friends with even after graduation. Just because it's in a small town doesn't mean that there's nothing to do. It all depends on the people you surround yourself with. Anything can be fun with the right people. One complaint I do have is in the business core requirements. I do not understand why every business major has to take econ 300. It is a ridiculously hard class that I think should have specific sections for econ majors and then sections for everybody else. I am a marketing major and I don't think that I will need to have that much of an extensive knowledge of economics. Other than that, I can't wait to finish my college career in the next year and a half here at U of I. I'm going to try and enjoy everything and do everything so that I won't have any regrets when I leave.
