I am content. I believe that this place is perfect for me but I can't say that it is a perfect match for everyone.

I started my journey at Elon very hopefully. It was my top choice and I got just enough financial aid to squeak by the costs (while still taking out 20,000 in loans). But overall, my experience at Elon has not been wonderful. I have found the image they present is very different than what campus life is like. The administration seems deceitful and only cares about incoming students, and never caring about anyone after their first semester freshman year. There is no diversity- in either race or class. Most everyone I encountered is rich from the northeast. Elon likes to say there are so many clubs and everyone is so involved, but I have personally found it very hard to get involved in a lot of things I would like. The students are cutthroat competitive and it makes a very unwelcoming environment. I rushed and joined a sorority but found the girls extremley cliqueish and unwilling to "bond with their sisters" and felt outcasted. The theater program is very exclusive, don't even try to audition if you're not in their precious BFA program. Housing was medicore, the older dorms were falling apart with mold but everyone is charged the same rate. I have made some wonderful friends here but will be getting the heck out and transferring. I can't justify paying their ridiculous tuition anymore. Please think carefully before attending here. If you're more eccentric and not preppy from the north, this probably isn't the school for you!!!
