NYU allows you to live in New York City.Quite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
NYU allows you to live in New York City. Once you find your way around, you realize it's a pretty good deal. The business school kids are generally considered jerks, but I would say otherwise. Stern is incredibly competetive, which means not everybody is going to be your friend. On the whole, the kids are friendly and quite diverse. Living in the city will entertain you, everybody works their schedules so they don't have class on Friday, classes are not easy, but it has been a good experience so far. As for the social life, there is a collection of bars/clubs within short walking distance from the "campus" around Washington Square Park. I'm only a freshman, so I don't know a lot about the other dorms... but Weinstein, the all freshmen dorm, is almost like a prison. The food is not very good, the rooms are pretty small, it's pretty old, there's only carpet in the halls, and there is a zero tolerance policy towards drugs and alcohol in the dorm. Then again, you have the positives to deal with: it's all freshmen, VERY close to classes (5 min walk), and there are good sandwiches you can get around the corner at Faye's.

Question
I dont as much time to type allQuite BrightEconomics
I dont as much time to type all that I would like to say about NYU as I have a class in the morning and I need to get my sleep. However, after reading the responses of the students, I must give my opinion. As a freshman at NYU I came in scared. NYU is a scary school. It forces you to grow up, be a real person. NYU is just as good or as bad as you want it to be. It offers unparralleled education opportunities but also refuses to pick every student out of the cracks into which they have allowed themselves to fall. Yes, NYU is money hungry. Yes, MAP is a pain in everyone's ass. However, NYU is an opportunity, the pain in the ass classes make you learn whereas your counterparts in state schools and party school are taking english 101. This school is not for the weak. It is for people who want to make something of themselves and are willing to fight for it, not have it handed to them... that not only includes your diploma and grades, but also your friends, social life, quality of education, and growth in your personality.NYU is hard...if you want to pave your own way its worth it.
