Positive Negative Neutral Advice
NYU is a school that is not forBright
NYU is a school that is not for everyone. If I were to describe NYU, I would say that it is not collge but rather living in the city and going to class in your free time. There is zero school spirit and even though the school offers many different activities, it is nearly impossible to get involved. I was very dissappointed and will soon most likely be transfering out. If you want a college expierence, DO NOT come to NYU.

Question
NYU is very much about a name, butQuite Bright
NYU is very much about a name, but let's face it if you graduate in four years you have accomplished a great feat. The work is hard. You have to manage your classes for your major along with all the core courses. At the end of the week I'm drained. I live in Brooklyn but I was living at NYU to get the "real college experience." Unfortunately, that doesn't exist at NYU. The kids are spoiled pampered rich kids from the "burbs." They are arrogant and I moved back home this second semester because living with them and their want-to-be hippy attitudes really made me sick to my stomach. All things considered though, I love my program. I love my advisor. I find that the teachers really care about their students and would do anything to help you when you're overwhelmed or in a bind. My dad developed cancer this year and I am carrying 18 credits a semester. The teachers helped me in everyway possible. If I had it all to do over again I'd say that it would be a tough call, because like any college there are pros and cons. While the acedemics are hard (and thats not a bad thing) and the students shallow - the teachers and my program (nursing) are great. I only wish I would have taken the full scholarship offers and alliviated the burden of the financial commitment NYU on to them. Good Luck

Question
DON'T GO TO THIS SCHOOL, ALL THEY WANTQuite Bright
DON'T GO TO THIS SCHOOL, ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY! After you get in, they don't give a damn about you, as long as you pay yours bills. I know so many people being threatened that their financial aid is going to be cancelled, what kind of business does that? Don't get suckered in, the name is not worth it! There is too much red tape, the school is big, sophomore year will be hell when you live 30 minutes away from campus and have to rely on the unreliable campus transportation. I suggest you go somewhere where the school actually cares about you because NYU does not.
