The professors here don't really care about students unless you are helping them with their research, they make you talk to TA's that don't speak English instead. Most classes are curved because everyone gets D's and C's on tests, so you really don't ever end up learning anything. On one occasion I asked what specifically we should know for a test and the teacher's response was "know everything". On a separate occasion, my entire class failed an exam, and our teacher allowed us to take it home and do over some questions for partial credit, and the answers weren't even in our book or class notes! Students walking to their dorms and apartments get jumped and get their laptops (which they try to tell you that you are required to buy RPI's laptops for a few thousand dollars when you really don't need to) stolen all the time during the fall semester, so there's not a good feeling of safety. Don't waste your money.
