Positive Negative Neutral Advice
Going to this college was definitely a goodQuite Bright
Going to this college was definitely a good decision for me. However, an opinion about any college is based on individual tastes. The science courses are rigorous but teach you a lot. When you leave DeSales, you know you are prepared for graduate school, professional school or the work force.

DeSales, although Catholic does not force its religion on you (except making you take two theology courses). I know many people who were not catholic and felt completely comfortable on this campus.

You won't find major parties on campus. There are some parties in the heights and some in off campus. If you want a frat party atmosphere, this is not the right school for you. However, it is extremely easy to find a party if you want to, and easy to avoid them if you don't want to. Anyone who said there wasn't enough to do on campus wasn't looking hard enough. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved, and Student Activities plans many events and trips.

Question
DeSales is cutthroat.Quite BrightBiology
DeSales is cutthroat. They treat you like a number and their PA program is especially difficult. Only about 20% make it through to the didactic phase in the 5-year program. Wish I would have known that coming here. Don't come here.

Question
Don't come to DeSales if you are lookingBrightPreMed and Medical
Don't come to DeSales if you are looking for a fun college experience. I'm sure that most student reading this will probably say, "I'm going for the education, not the fun," and believe me, that was my thought too. However, there is absolutely nothing to do on campus, so when you do have free time, you'll be hard pressed to find anything worthwhile going on at this school. There are Height parties on the weekends, but it almost seems as if you have to know the right people in order to go. From my perspective, the student body makes it feel like a repeat of high school. There is immaturity and cliques, so good luck trying to make friends after the first few weeks of school are said and done. Academically, yes, this is a strong school, but being honest, DeSales truly does not have anything more to offer its students than a diploma after four boring years spent here.
