If you are a moron or you simplyBrightUndecided
If you are a moron or you simply want to get through college without learning much and have your degree handed to you with minimal effort then go here. Most of the professors make their work stupidly easy so that their students can pass and they keep their jobs. Chemistry 1 here was basically like taking High School pre AP Chem again and overviewing the construction of the atom for weeks. I don't think it was even as hard as AP Chem at a mediocre high school. Also, Beaumont is a terrible city and the weather is so unpredictable you can wait 15 minutes and it will change. However, the dorms are decent and so is the Dining Hall. The gym is the best in town. The maintenance crew is very timely. 95% of the students are imbeciles though and there are lots of poseur gangsters swaggering around. A lot of people wear tshirts of schools they would rather be at than Lamar.

Question
I was alarmed by how underprepared LU leftQuite BrightElectrical Engineering
I was alarmed by how underprepared LU left me for graduate school and the "real world" beyond. I had heard good things about LU's engineering program, but as a high school senior I hadn't done sufficient research, and took the friendly advice of my counselor. Thankfully I attended a more challenging and competitive graduate school in a town with significantly more social and entertainment opportunities, and have had a successful four year post-MS career in engineering. The quality of education at Lamar?as well as the quality of student life?was below expectations. If you wish to stay in-state and go to a good engineering school, consider Rice or Texas A&M College Station.

Question
I started going to Lamar in Fall '06Quite BrightPsychology
I started going to Lamar in Fall '06 and my last semester there was in Fall '07. I transferred to UH and like it much better. The majority of the professors here have PhDs and do more to challenge your mind instead of just reading straight from the book like the ones at Lamar. The school in general is just boring its definitely not a place that should be high up on anyones list of colleges. Half of these teachers and T.A.s can't even speak english let alone teach me anything. The only reputable departments of this college are probably ENGINEERING, NURSING,and maybe BUSINESS other than that you might as well find somewhere else to go. The only reason i and some of my friends went there is because its close and convenient in pricing but thats about it. if you're looking for somewhere to BEGIN your college career or just take a few classes in the summer go here, otherwise RUN and DON'T LOOK BACK!!!!!!
