If you want to go to a schoolBrightOther
If you want to go to a school with a vibrant social scene and many activites Mason is not your school. The campus does not offer too much in the way of clubs and other forms of recreation. Even if the school did most students are unaware or appathetic of the existing activities and do not make use of the facilities; they would rather stay in their rooms, going online, watching TV or drinking with their roommates and maybe one or two other friends. People pretty much do the same thing every night. On the weekends it's even worse because most students go home; they campus is practically empty. There are a few activities offered but almost no one goes to them and everything closes either at ridiculously early hours or completely. I was so unsatisfied with the experienced I have moved back home and am transfering to a closer school.

Do not listen to people that commute. Of course, if you live at home with your parents and drive 30-40 minutes to school everyday you are going to be miserable. You may as well go to a community college. As for the costs of living on campus, use financial aid. I doubt many people are actually paying out of the pocket for housing.I am definitly not.

Anyways,GMU is an excellent university. I have never met so many people from other countries and backgrounds. International students are particularly cool. This school has everything-- the location, cost, people, professors, and opportunities. The proximity to DC is great, the professors are outstanding, and there is more to do around here than drink if you want that. Getting a job is easy, before or after graduation. Great concerts at the Patriot Center...Food is not so good. Oh well, can't have everything. I love Mason, and highly recommend it.
