I was surprised by how hard it was to make good friends here. The kids are very cliquey and mostly all fit a stereotype: the stoner, the jock, the hippie…UVM is also known to be a party school, but the parties here are horrible. There are only maybe 2-5 per weekend night, but they are crowded to the point of suffocation, sweaty, and incredibly sleezy and disgusting. Do not attend this university if you are looking for an intellectual atmosphere. Students here are not interested in learning for learning's sake.
