well, it could be better, but this isn't U of M, for god's sake. maintenance is pretty shoddy, and the university REALLY likes to give non-frat/religious student organizations the run-around. as the secretary of a stumbling club, they don't go through any measures to make things easier.the city of kalamazoo itself is pretty dead. having come from detroit, i find this dissapointing. there's never anything to do, and what venues do exist cater to fairly select interests. there's really no "culture" here except for the mindless drunk types. the university radio station, WIDR does do a good job of promoting less mainstream musical interests, and they can point you to a good show every once in a while. kalamazoo's proximity to chicago can also be a plus, but that's about as far as it stretches. a quiet, small city, surrounded by farmland. what more could a college student (not) want?
