Date: Dec 07 2002 Major: Education (This Major's Salary over time) The UI has a lot going for it. It's Big 10 but not monster huge. Lots of sports/recreation options. Iowa City is a great college town. The professors I had were almost all positive and supportive, including several I met who were not in my field. Of course, any university that emphasizes research will have self-absorbed profs. I've met a few.If you are thinking about the UI for undergraduate education, consider a smaller college if you want to avoid large Intro courses the freshman year. You can get a quality education at UI, but it helps to have inside information on courses/instructors. Be assertive and insist that your advisor advise you! If you are thinking about the UI for graduate education, be sure to scope out the program carefully before you come—some programs are much better than others. But that's true anywhere.
