Major: English (This Major's Salary over time)
Clemson is a great place to go to school. While some people might tell you that it is a small town with nothing to do unless you are in a frat, only the first part of that sentence is true. If you are bored then you are doing something wrong. I-murals, clubs and organizations for just about anything you can think of, from sports/rec (scuba, lacrosse, skydiving, karate, fencing) to politics (YR, etc) to religious fellowship clubs, career-oriented clubs (foreign language clubs, econ, engineering, etc). If you have any interest you will find people with the same interests and make many lifelong friendships. Don't forget you do have some elective credits to achieve, so make them elective: you can take classes such as horseback riding & golf. What else: the Brooks Center for Performing Arts which brings world class performances to a small southern town, a new rec center, a movie theatre on campus, 15 minutes away from the foothills of the blue ridge mountains where you can fish, hike, visit bust-ass falls (God's waterslide in the mountains), lakes, the issequeena dam, bowman field, 25 miles from greenville where you can find more shopping & theatre, including Cafe & Then Some (CATS) maybe the most underrated, hysterical politically charged dinner theatre in the nation; only two hours from Atlanta, 1.5 hours from Athens. As for your education, you will get a quality education if you work for it. I was a physics major for two years and switched to English, and every prof in both departments are always willing to help and talk. President Barker is doing an outstanding job of making Clemson a better University. Did I mention the botanical gardens, or the rodeos at Garrison arena? Or what about the ice cream? And the football season? You don't have to be a football fan to enjoy tailgating at Clemson, if you like to be around and meet thousands of friendly folks ages 1 - 100, soaking up some sun, and socializing, then you'll have a good time. I could go on and on, but you get the picture.
