After three years at Drexel I'm getting really tired of every other person I meet bitching and moaning about "The Drexel Shaft" and how shitty they think this university is. Honestly the main thing they complain about is administrative red tape, which will be found in any large organization, institution, or business. It's never going to be easy to get free money (financial aid) out of anyone. It is not my place to comment of the quality of education that some of these people have recieved from their respective programs, but I can confidently say that the Film and Video Production program at Drexel is extremely effective. It is a fairly new program, but with each passing year the quality imporves more and more. The faculty is knowledgeable and encouraging of student work. By the time film students are upperclassmen they develop great working relationships with eachother, thus contributing to creative, skilled final projects in film or video. The co-op program gives you a chance to intern before you graduate, and in this industry there are MANY college grads who work unpaid just to gain experience. The expereince for me in the school of design arts has been very positive, and the other negative aspects of Drexel have been secondary.
