I'm actually a GE, but most of the workload is similar. This school is full of itself. 2 professors win nobel prizes (for things they did 30 years ago mind you.) and every professor here gets an ego boost. I emphasize this to freshman considering this school be prepared to be the most boring person in the world with nothing on your mind but working non stop if you expect to succeed with a high gpa at this university. If you've a problem with your grade on your paper don't bother asking for it to be changed. Even if other PHd's say your right you'll still be wrong… enjoy your low b's and high c's you'll get a lot of them. OH, and if you get sick don't expect any special accomidations or anything along those lines just withdrawl for the semister. My freshman year is comprable to a platoon going in on a dangerous mission. for every 10 students the college of engineering admits, only 6 make it past their freshman year. Screw this school. Go private if you can.
