I came to UH mainly because I wanted to live close to my family and other major Texas universities didn't appeal to me so much. However, if I could do it all over again, I would go to UT or Texas Tech or Texas State. But I'm not going to transfer because I met my boyfriend here and have already established friends and am almost done with my degree requirements so…

I have one MAJOR complaint against the university-the financial aid department. I have never come into contact with such an unfriendly, incompetent, half-assed staff as these people. Seriously, the people who work at the DMV are more efficient and friendly than these idiots. I have had problems with my financial aid every single year. Three weeks into the spring semester, I still have not received my financial aid. I have called three times and they say they are "working on it" but I find that extremely doubtful. You really have to get on their asses if you want anything processed in, at best, a slow and lengthy time. That's what you get for going to a Tier 4 university-crappy student service and staff who don't care about the students. Honestly, the quality of the financial aid office has affected my view of the university which aside from that, is not so bad. The food could use some improvement as well as the staff who works at the Moody Towers cafeteria. They act as if they're doing you a huge favor by serving you food. Major attitude problems and probably some inferiority complexes going on there as well. Other than that, if you want a cheap university close to the city, then this is the place for you.
