UVM is a great place if you are into winter activities. I would not reccomend coming here if you are used to seeing the sun back home, you won't see it here. The weather is bad, always changing. The people here are not too friendy. They walk around starring at the ground. The Northeast persona is very prevalent here, people are just not happy or outgoing as much. It's very difficult to get motivated here because there are so many lazy people. As much as I hate stereotypes, VT is really just hippies, preppies(collarpoppers), some jocks, and Vermonters who are actually the friendliest. Pot is very prevalent as is alcohol. There is not much to do on the weekends. Burlington is nice, but gets old quick, you can either shop every weekend or stay in your dorm. Academically, liberal arts are not the focus here, sciences are strong, especially environmental studies.

It is a haven if you are from the Northeast, VT is beautiful but if you don't like cold and clouds, I highly recomend going somewhere else. Personal health and peace of mind are more important and will help you to focus on your studies more.

The proffs are nice though and fairly accessible.
