UF is okay. Its nothing special really. The overall experience for my first semester of university life is one that seems as though could have been achieved anywhere else. Imagine a highschool schedule loaded with AP's and a somewhat greater amount of time to study. If you take physics, know that the labs are brutal and that there's never enough time to finish… so try doing work ahead of time (do the lab on your own time before the class) - its the only way to have a chance at an A in the class. If I got better financial aid from U Miami I'd go there. I think USF might have been a better choice. And the Gator insanity gets quite repulsive after a few weeks. You can't escape it. Some people like it. I don't. When you do come to Gainesville try getting a NEW apartment. Talk with other tenants and find out about pest control problems. Do not sign anything longer than a 6-month lease. A car is good to have. A bike is necessary for class-to-class transit and the occasional 10-15 minute ride to one of the two Wal-Marts.
