I wouldn't have gone to any other school. UPenn has it's ups and downs both academically and socially, but the good outweighed the bad, and the downfalls of the school were very few. I love the city and the urban environment. If you make the effort to be friendly to people, they reciprocate. Yes, you've got snooty Jewish kids going there who have a waaay too high perception of themselves, but they're more amusing than anything else, and they for sure don't comprise the entire Penn population. There are creative, non-condescending people who also know how to have a great time. The academics, which were most important to me, are usually excellent to fair. Class is what you make of it, but it helps to have a good prof. Most of the ones I've gotten are quite good, but I did do my research first to get into particular classes. If you enjoy a balance of challenges and good times in the city, come here! And just to add one more thing…I was born and raised in Philadelphia. Philly is not for everyone. Parts of it, West Philly especially, are not the safest of territories. But campus safety, considering the situation, is not all that bad.

questionThe person above made a comment about "snooty Jewish kids." Frankly, I'm really curious about that. Does this person discriminate against religion, or is it that Jewish kids are the only snooty kids on campus? So far, it's been my experience that no matter what the person's religious affiliation or racial background, there's going to be SOMEONE snooty from their type of background. There are some who would call a middle-class white agnostic girl like myself "snooty" and there are also people who would call anyone who isn't their type of person "snooty." So I'm just curious.
