I am an officer of a company at 35. My quick movement up the corporate ladder was accelerated by the challenges provided by SIU. You need to come out of your university as a confident well rounded individual that can succeed with a specific expertise.

SIU's diverse groups helped me when traveling around the world and interacting with different culture's and people. SIU's social scene taught me how to work with strong minded people with different opinions and goals.

SIU's coursework pushed my creativity and understanding.

You don't pick a university because it makes you happy and everything is rosy, you pick a university because it takes you out of your comfort zone and challenges both academically and socially.

I was accepted to Illinois, Purdue, and Southern Illinois. I chose Southern, and that was the best decision of my life.
