Major: Journalism (This Major's Salary over time)
I had a choice between NYU and USC, and I chose to go to USC for its journalism programs at the Annenberg School for Communication. We have an excellent journalism program better than Northwestern's because we focus on the convergence of online, broadcast, and print media. You will be so much better prepared. The Trojan "family" is definitely not an overstatement…Annenberg once hosted a new student/current student/faculty/alumni welcome reception right here in the Bay Area! It was well done and everyone was genuine and friendly. I feel that Annenberg has provided rich opportunities to challenge yourself intellectually (we have a news network, our own professional TV station, solid daily newspaper, ethnic-centered newspapers, radio stations, and a digital lab that lets you print stuff for free). There are SO many things to get involved in besides a frat/sorority. I am not part of a sorority and yet I have found honest friends. Yes, there are bratty rich kids and partygoers, but you can find that at any school. It is really how you make use of the vast options here at USC that determines your experience. My only negative thing? It's a little bureaucratic.
